Road Guard Automotive Terms & Conditions

By purchasing our installation service, you agree to the terms below. Please read them carefully to ensure your installation can proceed smoothly.

By engaging the services of Road Guard Automotive for installation jobs, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Acceptance of Terms
By scheduling an installation with Road Guard Automotive, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Services Provided
Road Guard Automotive provides installation services for various vehicle equipment, including dash cameras, covert immobilisers, telematics/trackers, and associated hardwiring kits. The specific services provided will be outlined in your service agreement.

  2.1 Dash Camera Installation
  - Installation Includes: Professional installation of dash cameras, configuration, and testing of installed equipment.
  - Equipment Supply: Road Guard Automotive typically supplies the dash cameras needed for installation, along with necessary hardwiring kits to ensure a clean and secure installation.
  - Power Connection Options: We strongly recommend using the ignition live connection to prevent battery drain, although a switched live connection can be used as an alternative.

  2.2 Covert Immobiliser Installation
  - Installation Includes: Professional installation of covert immobiliser systems, including the innovative Ghost Immobiliser.
  - Equipment Supply: Road Guard Automotive supplies the immobiliser units, which are designed to enhance vehicle security and prevent unauthorized vehicle access or theft.
  - Discretion and Security: For security reasons, we cannot disclose the specific locations where the immobiliser components are installed within the vehicle. This measure is to prevent potential tampering or removal by unauthorized persons. By proceeding, you acknowledge and accept that you will not be informed of these precise installation locations.
  - Ghost Immobiliser Details:
    - The Ghost Immobiliser is a state-of-the-art vehicle security system that offers advanced protection against theft by effectively making your vehicle "invisible" to thieves.
    - The system uses a unique code that only the owner knows, which must be entered via the vehicle's existing buttons before starting the engine. If the correct code is not entered, the immobiliser will prevent the vehicle from starting.
    - It is undetectable by standard diagnostic tools and is fully integrated into your vehicle's electronics.

  2.3 Telematics/Tracker Installation
  - Installation Includes: Professional installation of telematics and tracking systems for vehicles.
  - Equipment Supply: Road Guard Automotive typically supplies the tracking units used during installation.
  - Functionality: These systems may monitor various parameters and provide real-time location data, helping in theft prevention and recovery.

  2.4 Installation Process
  - Hardwiring Methods: During the hardwiring of your equipment, the engineer may either solder or tap onto the appropriate wiring loom of your vehicle, or may utilize a pre-made loom specific to your vehicle. This method ensures a secure and stable connection for optimal performance of the installed devices.

  2.5 Additional Services
  - Road Guard Automotive may offer additional services, such as post-installation training on how to use and maintain your dash camera or tracker, as well as software updates where applicable. Be sure to inquire about any extra services during your appointment.

3. Installation Location and Conditions
  - You must provide a safe, legal, off-road area for the installation to take place.
  - Where necessary, you will need to ensure that permission from the landowner is obtained before the installer arrives.
  - Sufficient free parking must be available for the installer's vehicle next to your vehicle.
  - In poor weather conditions, we may need to rearrange the installation unless you have suitable covered facilities, such as a double garage or carport.

4. Dash Camera Maintenance
Dash cameras feature user-replaceable memory cards with a limited lifespan. As a customer, you are responsible for:

  - Ensuring that memory cards are functioning properly.
  - Regularly formatting memory cards (recommended once a month).
  - Replacing memory cards accordingly (recommended replacement every 10 months).

Road Guard Automotive shall not be liable for any loss of video or associated costs due to a camera not recording video or audio. Please note that camera batteries and memory cards are deemed consumable items and carry a 6-month warranty from the date of installation/purchase. Road Guard Automotive will replace memory cards and batteries if they develop a fault within the 6-month warranty period.

5. Warranty Information
  - Road Guard Automotive offers a standard workmanship warranty for a period of 12 months from the date of installation. This warranty covers defects in workmanship but does not cover damages resulting from misuse or external factors.
  - All dash cameras and other technology supplied through Road Guard Automotive come with a warranty as stated by the manufacturer, typically lasting 30 days. If any issue arises within that period, customers should contact us for assistance.
  - Customers have the option to purchase our Care Cover for £49.99, which extends coverage for an additional two years. This covers any issues with the dash camera during that time.
  - Tampering Warning: Please note that if any installation, wiring, or equipment is tampered with or modified by anyone other than Road Guard Automotive, the warranty coverage for that installation will be void. This includes any repairs, alterations, or maintenance performed by other parties without our consent.
  - In the event that a replacement or repair is needed, Road Guard Automotive will strive to replace the product with a unit as close to the original as possible.

6. Scheduling and Cancellation
  - Installation appointments must be scheduled in advance.
  - Cancellations or rescheduling must be done at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment to avoid a cancellation fee.
  - Road Guard Automotive reserves the right to cancel appointments in case of unforeseen circumstances and will provide a rescheduled date upon cancellation.

7. Vehicle Condition
  - Customers must ensure that their vehicles are in operable condition for the installation to be performed.
  - Road Guard Automotive is not liable for any pre-existing issues with the vehicle that may affect installation.

8. Equipment
  - All equipment required for the installation will be specified before the appointment. Road Guard Automotive will supply the necessary dash cameras, trackers, other technology, and hardwiring kits.
  - Customers are responsible for coordinating with Road Guard Automotive if additional equipment is needed.

9. Payment

  - Accepted payment methods will be specified and may include credit cards, cash, or electronic payment systems.

10. Customer Responsibility
   - Customers are responsible for ensuring that all required permissions and authorizations for the installation are obtained.

   - It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that all pre-installation requirements, such as clearing the area around the vehicle, are met.

11. Additional Customer Expectations
   - Customers should have a valid form of identification and any necessary documentation on hand during the installation appointment.
   - If an installer faces delays due to unforeseen circumstances such as vehicle accessibility issues, additional fees may apply for extended service time.
